x3( x2+4) +6x+5

let t = x2 = (x*x)   t be the temporary variable

(t*x*(t+4))+ 6*x +5

No. of arithmetic operations in the above equation = 6

TOTAL number of arithmetic operations = 6+1( for the temporary variable to calculate x2)

    Answer =7
